After a 10 year sabbatical from painting, during which he founded both the Northface and ZOOM ZOOM Airlines, Hiersoux returned to the art world in search of ways to synthesize his varied life experiences.

Lithographs and etching offered a challenge to explore the multiplicity. In 1981 he created this series of prints entitled "Re-Entry". Most are 22" by 30" composites of four or five plates.

As his love of flying had moved him to start an airline, his love of printing led him to co-create KALA, an internationally-esteemed print studio, and to collaborate with Don Farnsworth and David Kimball to build Magnolia Press.
